MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC. TUESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2024

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held over Google Meet due to inclement weather. Those in attendance were Jennifer Byrne, Jill Clingan, Michelle Houston, Libby Craig, Marian Pfeiler, Bobbi Bond, Sam Musfelt, Tristan Musfelt, and Kelsey Walker

The meeting was called to order by Libby Craig.

Director’s Report: Jennifer Byrne

• District band went really well. 
• 2/20: solo and ensemble night. There are 5 judges coming in—3 judges have confirmed. We will need to discuss payment for them.
• 2/21-22 is try the instrument day at the middle schools. The kids did amazing at this last year. Half of the 6th graders are in band at East Middle School, and South Middle School has grown, too.
• Riley Zimmerman is going to State at the end of this month, and it would be nice if we could give him a $75 stipend to eat.
• We can put a shipping container where the shed is now, but the school will not pay for the concrete.

Color Guard Report: Kelsey Walker

• The girls started learning the routine last week.
• Kelsey went to Oklahoma to get the mythical trees. They did not get the stump so will be getting $300 back.
• So far the color guard is ahead on the winter guard budget.
• There are 15 high school winter guard students and 8 middle school winter guard students. 

Fundraiser Report: Michelle Houston

• Flyers about the father-daughter dance were sent to the elementary school yesterday.
• Quite a few have signed up for the fairy experience. 
• Tonight’s work session was canceled, but we have been making a lot of progress behind the scenes. There are no more work sessions until the day before the dance. 
• We will decorate the night before and Saturday morning:
  • Friday: 6-9 pm
  • Saturday: 9-12 am and 4:30-9:30 pm (or when everything is cleaned up)
• Working on restaurant nights, a trash bag fundraiser in April, and a calendar fundraiser. 

Chuckwagon Report: Bobbi Bond

• Approved $75 stipend for Riley.  

Treasurer’s Report: Marian Pfeiler

• As of 12/31, we have 56K in our checking account and the financials are looking good.
• The dry cleaning bill is in the mailbox.
• Need to work on 1099s
• Money for mattress fundraiser: $1600

President’s Report: Libby Craig

• There was a discussion about putting up senior banners for those band students who were not in marching band. Marian will check the budget to see if we can pay for those or if students will need to do so.
