 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE 
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC
March 10, 2020

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room at the High School.  Those in attendance were: Libby Craig, John Wilson, Trina Westhues, Lisa Sorge, Laurel Baumgardner, Catie Howlett, Melissa Adams, Tara Spencer, Jennifer Story


The meeting was called to order by Trina at 7:04pm

• Introductions
  
• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:
  
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
    
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
    
• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
  

Business Reports:  

• The minutes from the February 11, 2020  meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve minutes, Tara, Lisa seconded . No discussion.
  
• Emergency Election-Diana Edgecomb has resigned as treasurer. Motion to nominate Tara Spencer to finish out this term made by Jennifer, seconded by Lisa. Unanimous vote.
  

Treasurer  Report: Tara

• See financial Report
  
• Tara is still figuring out Charms- Mattress sales and Father/Daughter dance funds are not credited yet. Students earned ~$11.40 per hour for Father/Daughter dance.
  
• Paypal-$6450 sent to benevolent fund- discussion about how to figure out where those funds came from- Student payments?
  
• There were 2 hardship requests that haven’t been addressed. Those will be discussed privately.
  
• 1099 forms if earned over $600? Martin helped with Marching Band- consult Tammy Brown in financial office about taxes?
  

Committee Reports:
Color Guard- 

• Winter Guard went to Liberty last week- no scores posted yet
  

 Fundraising -Catie/Jennifer

• Nothing right now
  
• Candy Bars in April- need someone to collect and count money- Mr. Houston will handle handout.
  
• One More Scoop- Catie will set up
  

Field Crew/Band Dads-RJ Hurley -Head Band Dad

• No report
  

Uniforms – Melissa and Lisa

• Need to have a uniform workday- possibly in April due to scheduling conflicts-April 4th 9-12
  
• Jackets all packed and ready to ship, gauntlets packed-Everything that is going to Central purchasing has to be sent in one delivery
  
• Can we store things in the white trailer?
  
• We have approval to replan uniform room, Arla to help with figuring out the layout-want to get rid of most of the cabinetry
  
• Working on a standardized labeling system- need list of current Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior marchers. Jacket # will be the Master Number.
  

Concert Wear- 

• Nothing discussed
  

Chuckwagon (hospitality)– 

• Nothing right now
  

Director’s Report:

• Solos and Ensembles at Grain Valley this Saturday March 14th
  
• Bands going to Belton High School for clinics March 24th during the day-WindSymphony in the morning, Symphonic later during day, Concert band after school hours- no concert that evening
  
• Large Group at Paseo April 3rd
  
• Jazz Concert Cancer fundraiser raised $2200.
  
• Jazz Band is complete
  
• 40 applicants for band director position, more than applicants for football coach
  
• Voice your opinion with long term planning that the high school needs soundproof doors.
  

New Business

• Jennifer Story, Catie Howlett and Tara Spencer have a list of nominees
  
• Nominees to present in April, Vote in May
  
• 2 year term limits
