 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE 
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC
September 10, 2019

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room at the High School.  Those in attendance were: Catie Howlett, Jennifer Story, Kelli Hurley, Tara Spencer, Laurel Baumgartner, Tina Kirby, Libby Craig, Travis Houston, John Wilson, Tami Hallford, Arla Beneke, Trina Westhues


The meeting was called to order by Kelli/Trina at 7pm

• Introductions
• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education

Business Reports:  

• The minutes from the August 13, 2019  meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve minutes -Kelli, seconded Catie . No discussion

Treasurer’s  Report: Diana Edgecomb

• Diana not able to attend

Committee Reports:
Color Guard- Jen not able to attend- Mr Wilson reported

• They are struggling
• They need someone that can be there for the 1st half of practice until 4:15, when Jennifer can get there- Catie Howlett volunteered

Fundraising -Catie/Jennifer

• Sunglasses- #10 sold at the game. $132.60 profit so far.
• Football Programs- 1st game good, 2nd not as much. ~$800-900.
• Spirit wear- One run per year due to limitations of available products
• Mums- orders have to be in on time to be able to get correct orders. No late orders accepted. No extras. Final count due Sat. Sept 14, will arrive Sept 19. Will need help.
• Trash Bags- Arrive Thursday 9/12 at 4:30. Distribution 5pm. Bring box cutters if able to help. We got late orders-may not be able to fill. Will try to call tomorrow.
• Crew shirts- 2nd order comes in next week.
• Chipotle Night- tonight. Need $300 in sales before we get 33%.
• Open Fundraisers- One More Scoop has to be on Tuesdays
• Butterbraids-coming soon-Oct 7-21. Deliver Oct 29th. They will be coming to class with samples.
• Father/Daughter Dance to be headed by Amber Bramble

Field Crew/Band Dads-RJ Hurley -Head Band Dad

• Props are builts and here. 
• Scrims are here and put together
• They need more help getting things on/off the field
• Shed near football field needs new roof.  We are trying to figure out who is financially responsible for the repairs. Shingles/Nails ~$35. Arla says she can provide the nails. Jennifer motioned to purchase shingles/ Tara seconded.
• Motion made to purchase spray paint to paint music stands.  5 stands per can. Need 10-15 cans. Catie motioned/Tara seconded
• Drummit at the Summit is Saturday 9/14. We will have extra wristbands for helpers

Uniforms – Kelli Hurley

• Everyone fitted in old uniforms. 6-10 alterations still needed. Arla/Nina doing great with alterations
• Shoes, gloves, shirts, and hoodies have been handed out. Motion to purchase more black socks from Walmart/Sam’s- Catie/Tina 
• First Aid kit- should be at games, too
• Motion to purchase feminine products from Sam’s approved

Concert Wear- Kiersten Grier’s grandma, Lynette

• Starting to organize
• Hangers are in- both velvet and heavy duty ones
• May try to have a fitting sheet to list sizes for prefitting

Chuckwagon – 

• Cambros ordered X2
• They will be providing snacks for Drummit at the Summit
• A trailer for chuckwagon only has been offered up by one of the band dads, Matt
• Carl Junction-fruit/water after parade, lunch-sandwiches, dinner-hot dinner

Director’s Report:

• October 19- Cameron not Trenton
• Only overnight is StL- Days Inn St.Louis, Lindbergh 314-717-0941 for reservation
• Maps for Carl Junction
• Picture night-some say they don’t have their picture
• Who is getting parade candy-Chuckwagon
• October 11- 8th graders here
• January 15th (?)- all band kids & 8th grade band kids to do sectionals, mass band rehearsal, parent meeting, concert of 3-4 songs. This will be informal wear.
• Carl Junction will be a late night. We will make finals, also at Valhalla
• Toughest competitions should be Park Hill and Francis Howell
• Sept 27th Homecoming game- will be playing after game.
• 4pm perfomance at Drummit at the Summit-should be tough competition, but fun

.New Business

• Kelli-from Brent- Selling green golf cart-$5000 if band wants to purchase it.
