MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2023

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room. Those in attendance were Jennifer Byrne, Jenna Craig, Libby Craig, Melissa Guyer, Jaidyn St. Peter, Roger St. Peter, Seina Pfeiler, Anessa Pfeiler, Marian Pfeiler, Michelle Houston, Holly Nall, Chris Nall, Jason Heuwinkel, Susan McCamish, Matt Clingan, Jill Clingan, Michelle Helzer, Chris Thompson, LeeAnne Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Erin Butterworth, Shawn Butterworth, Andrea Smither, Jennifer Scrivener, Bobbi Bond, Sam Musfelt, Tristan Musfelt, Damien Musfelt, Vada Musfelt, Angela Gethers, Chacqie Chandler, Crystal Courtney, Ciann Courtney

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Libby Craig. 

Director’s Report: Jennifer Byrne

• 38 students made it to the all-district ensemble. 
• All State Band competition is 12/2.
  
• ​We had a very successful marching band season. Thank you, marching band parents!
• There will be some marching band scheduling tweaks next year. Percussion will look different. Auditions for percussion may be in February. The schedule will be out by January.
• ​Jazz band is off to a great start. Both ensembles are almost completely full. Shupe is directing Jazz 1, and Ms. Henzel, who played in the jazz band at MU, is helping conduct Jazz 2. 

Band Dads: Jason Heuwinkel

• Jason McCamish will take Shirley into the shop after the first of the year. 
• We decided to give away or sell last year’s props.
• ​Ms. Byrne is going to cut out the names on the scrims and give them to the students.

Uniform Report: LeeAnne Thompson

• Uniforms are ready to go. The cleaners are going to pick them up on 11/29 between 9:45-10:15, and they will be delivered back here on 12/6.
  
• ​We will need help taking them out to the curb and the morning they come back. We will need help reconstructing bags and putting them back together. 

Chuckwagon Report: Bobbi Bond 

• The banquet went really well! Some snacks are still left, so maybe we could make bags for kids who are going to State.
  

Fundraising Report: Michelle Houston

• Butterbraid pickup was last Thursday. We made over $5K. 
• ​We have had the first father-daughter work session. We are not meeting next week because of Thanksgiving but will meet the following Tuesday.
• We will decorate the night before the dance. 
• ​The inclement weather date for the dance is 2/24.
• At an executive board meeting, we decided that this year, in addition to paying students for hours that they work, we will also pay for one adult per child at each work session.
• ​Idea: fundraiser at Price Chopper selling hot dogs, etc.

Color Guard Report: Kelsey Walker

• Color guard tryouts went really well for winter guard, and we are building the middle school color guard program.
  

Treasurer Report: Marian Pfeiler

• The bank statement ending October was at 56K.
• We are running a 5K profit but have not yet paid for the dry cleaners and trailer maintenance. ​
  
• In Chuckwagon, $800 is still available.
• We made $3300 on football programs. 
• ​Overall, we are in a good spot going to the father-daughter dance.
• Jennifer will meet with Marian to discuss preliminary numbers for band fees.
• ​Winter guard and jazz band fees will be loaded this weekend.
