 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE 
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC
January 14, 2020

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room at the High School.  Those in attendance were: Libby Craig, John Wilson, Tami Hallford, Trina Westhues, Lisa Sorge, Tara Spencer, Diana Edgecomb, Amber Bramble, Susan McCammish, Jennifer Story, Travis Houston, Laurel Baumgartner, Arla Beneke, Catie Howlett


The meeting was called to order by Catie at 7:01pm

• Introductions
  
• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:
  
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
    
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
    
• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
  

Business Reports:  

• The minutes from the November 12, 2019  meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve minutes, Diana, Lisa seconded . No discussion. No meeting in December.
  
• Treasurer’s  Report: Diana Edgecomb-no report this month
  

Committee Reports:
Color Guard- 

• Winter Guard-7-10 members currently practicing
  
• Need to invite Jennifer to next meeting
  

Fundraising -Catie/Jennifer

• Sunglasses -still have some to sell, could try to sell at Father/Daughter Dance
  
• Football Programs- someone needs to take over-Jennifer Scrivener willing to assist
  
• Mattress Sale- Made $250 at parent pre-meeting, someone coming to talk to the kids in Panther Time 1/15. Sale is 1/26/2020 10am-5pm. We do not need to be there, but putting up signs to advertise is helpful.
  
• TSA Cups- Are we going to do this?
  
• Father/Daughter Dance- Tara

-Fast Pass for Preregistration
-need raffle donations, sell sunglasses, chocolate bars?

• MOD Pizza, Culver’s, One More Scoop- should we try to get these scheduled?
  

Field Crew/Band Dads-RJ Hurley -Head Band Dad

• No report
  

Uniforms – 

• Need to have a uniform workday- possibly in April due to scheduling conflicts
  
• Send old coats to surplus
  

Concert Wear- 

• No report
  

Chuckwagon – 

• 8th grade/high school concert 1/29/2020- help with Pizza for all and possibly salad for the college kids that come to assist with sectionals- Approx. 240 people
  

Director’s Report:

• 8th grade/High school Concert 1/29/2020- set up like an honor band
  
• Sectionals 3:30-5pm, Pizza 5pm, 6pm full rehearsal, 6:30pm 8th grade parent meeting, 7pm concert
  
• January 6th concert had a great turnout, kids did great
  
• Solos and ensembles-kids should have signed up
  
• State-6 students made it-concert January 25
  
• Jazz- February
  
• Possible trip for next year-Florida? still working on approval
  

New Business

• Need to set nominating committee for next year’s Booster board
  
• Jennifer Story, Catie Howlett and Tara Spencer to be nominating committee
  
• Nominees to present in April, Vote in May
