​MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC.
November 8, 2016
 
The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held near the band room of the South Raymore-Peculiar High School building.  Those in attendance were: Dana Wilhite, Robert Hacker, Elizabeth Craig, Sherry Dubois, Melissa Hogan, Allison Bruflat, Tracy Caskey, Julie Adolphson, Jen Inman, Celia Squires.
 
The meeting was called to order by President Allison Bruflat at 7:04 p.m.
 

• Introductions
• Objectives of the Bylaws:
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
  • Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  • To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
• Respect and consideration for our time and work

 
Meeting Minutes Approval: 

• The minutes from the October 2016 meeting were reviewed
• A motion to approve the minutes was made by Tracy Caskey, seconded by Sherry Dubois; the motion carried.

 
Treasurer’s Report:  Tracy Caskey

• Tracy distributed transactions(10/1 – 11/06); General fund currently has $26,693.18
• Band Fees still owed: $4,344.28; Emails and calls are working
• Most significant bills have been paid. Invoice for programs will be ~$3,500; Copyright fees still due will be around $1,500
• A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Celia Squires, seconded by Jen Inman; the motion carried.

 
Committee Reports:
Bylaws Kellie Norton
            Update:  The bylaws are fine and will not be updated this year.
 
Chuckwagon Allison Bruflat for Angela Weis

• Food went very well this year
• Large Ensemble (Pizza) is the only meal left
• Cake for End of year program

Fall Football Programs Allison Bruflat for Jennifer Scrivener

• Profit was made
• Process begins again next summer
• Allison suggests we have kids sell ads

Father/Daughter Dance Sherry Dubois and Melissa Hogan

• February 4, 2017 in North Building
• Will need the small trailer for storage
• Work days have been set: Saturdays (9:30am-2pm) and Wednesdays (TBD) in January and maybe a couple in December
• It was suggested that someone attend 12/2 8th grade concert to get them involved so that when they become Freshmen they will have money in accounts for fees
• Sherry will print the registration forms; they will be sent to PO Box; Allison will post the flyer on FB
• A meeting is scheduled for planning; Sherry’s house 11/17/16 at 7pm

 
Field Crew/Band Dads Chris Wilhite

• Blankets need to be taken out of trailer and washed; Allison to check with Coach K. about using the school’s machines

Big Daddy’s Donuts  Allison Bruflat for Caren Homer

• We made $201; Julie Adolphson will send thank you
• May want to do this again

Monopoly Game  Allison for Cyndee Byous

• May try to do next year

Game Night at Peculiar Games and Hobbies

• Made $40.00

Band Uniforms: Jen Inman

• Marching uniforms will be cleaned soon; kids need to remove shoes and any personal items; uniform sleeves need to be unhemmed (if applicable)/unsnapped; Jen will check on potential face paint that will not stain the marching uniform
• We discussed the need for garment bags, including longer ones for color guard
• Concert Wear: We are short some dresses and pants, cumberbuns and ties.
• Melissa Hogan made a motion for $350 to buy pants, ties, cumberbuns, shrugs. Sherry seconded the motion; it carried. Jen or Allison will talk with Directors about dresses

Spirit Wear: Sherry Dubois

• Still need to deliver some, would like to leave with Directors

Future Discussion Items

• Should we host a small “Cass County” Invitational…a “pre-season” performance/fundraiser?
• Allison discussed a possible “Bandapalooza” that Mr. Houston sent out
• Allison is making trips to meet area Band Booster Presidents…getting ideas
• Should we consider a smaller trip (besides St Louis) in-between longer ones to keep kids interested?

Meeting adjourned at 8:21 p.m.  Next meeting is tentatively scheduled 12/13, but is a band concert night, so this meeting may be abbreviated or canceled.
