 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE 
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC
February 11, 2020

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room at the High School.  Those in attendance were: Libby Craig, John Wilson, Tami Hallford, Trina Westhues, Lisa Sorge, Jennifer Story, Travis Houston, Laurel Baumgartner, Arla Beneke, Catie Howlett, Melissa Adams, Cat Campbell


The meeting was called to order by Catie at 7:01pm

• Introductions
  
• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:
  
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
    
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
    
• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
  

Business Reports:  

• The minutes from the January 14, 2020  meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve minutes, Trina, Lisa seconded . No discussion.
  
• Treasurer  Report: Diana Edgecomb-no report this month. Per phone discussion General Account $13,000,  $12,000 in savings account -$7500 earmarked for sound system, $5000 Emergency/General. 
  

Committee Reports:
Color Guard- 

• Winter Guard placed 6th and 11th last 2 weeks- Judges just don’t get the show. It is a Lizzie Borden show.
  
• Need to invite Jennifer to next meeting
  

Fundraising -Catie/Jennifer

• Football Programs- someone needs to take over-Jennifer Scrivener willing to assist
  
• Mattress Sale- ~$10,000 between the band and the choir. $250 each group for the parent meeting. $750 each group for volume bonus. $350 went into benevolent fund
  

Field Crew/Band Dads-RJ Hurley -Head Band Dad

• No report
  

Uniforms – Melissa and Lisa

• Need to have a uniform workday- possibly in April due to scheduling conflicts
  
• Jackets all packed and ready to ship, gauntlets packed
  
• Gloves- saving what we can
  
• Socks-need to buy more
  
• Plumes- getting rid of old ones, will need new plume bags- they are a different size
  
• Bibbers-103 to go to the cleaners, we are short on larger sizes.
  
• We have approval to replan uniform room, Arla to help with figuring out the layout
  
• Working on a standardized labeling system
  

Concert Wear- 

• Wondering if it would be possible to do concert wear fittings at the same time as marching uniforms
  

Chuckwagon – 

• Great Job with the 8th grade/high school concert!
  

Director’s Report:

• Jazz Band doing really well- 1 & 2 went to MO State, 1,2,&3 UCM
  
• February 27th- Jazz Concert -Cancer fundraiser honoring Danny and Mark
  
• We have a student teacher-Alexander Linn from Truman State
  
• Precontest for Solos and Ensembles has been changed to March 10th
  
• Solos and Ensembles at Grain Valley March 14th
  
• Bands going to Belton High School for clinics March 24th during the day
  
• Large Group at Paseo April 3rd
  

New Business

• Jennifer Story, Catie Howlett and Tara Spencer to be nominating committee
  
• Nominees to present in April, Vote in May
  
• Shed needs to be cleaned out from Father/Daughter Dance- Saturday workday?
  
• February 27th School Board Meeting- All State kids getting recognized
