Ray-Pec Band students travelled to Hickman High School in Columbia, MO to compete against 1300 other students for seats in the All-State Band. This event is one of the most competitive and challenging groups for a high school student to make.
Tammy Yang (left) is a sophomore percussionist. She earned the top spot for Mallet Percussion making her the #1 mallet percussionist in the state. Tammy also earned the Honorable Mention spot for Timpani Percussion. Tammy will spend several days rehearsing at the Missouri Music Educators Association conference in January with a performance on the final day. Zane Brown (center) is a sophomore trumpet player. He was named 9th chair Honorable Mention. Zoe Goodwin (right) is a senior clarinet player. She was named 19th chair Honorable Mention. Not pictured is Doug Adolphson who was made callbacks in the trombone section. This means he was in the top 30 students and played a second audition. |
