Band Mission Statement

The East Middle School Band Program is designed for all its students to have a place to belong and to grow as musicians. Through band we are committed to helping our students develop life skills, create friendships, be kind citizens and strong leaders.  

6th Grade Beginning Band

6th Grade Beginning Band is a super fun and an exciting year-long class designed to help students learn to play a band instrument and perform within an ensemble. Students will have class every other day where they will learn the basics of how to produce a good sound, read and perform music notation, but most importantly, meet lots of new friends!  Students will have daily at-home practice assignments and will perform two to three concerts per school year.  Scroll down to find beginning band assignments and more information for students and parents!
