​The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room of the South Raymore-Peculiar High School building.  Those in attendance were: Kellie Norton, Kim Sickler, Scott Bradley, Chris Wilhite, Debbie Elrod, Robert Hacker, Elizabeth Craig, Jennifer Scrivener, Sherry Dubois, Melissa Hogan, Angela Weiss, Sandi Williams, Jennifer Gibson, Allison Bruflat, Tracy Caskey, Julie Adolphson, Sherri Jungman.
 
The meeting was called to order by President Allison Bruflat at 7:03 p.m.
 

• Introductions

 
Meeting Minutes Approval: 

• The minutes from the August 2016 meeting were reviewed and corrected (Date of Sep meeting was corrected)
• A motion to approve the minutes was made by Kim Sickler, seconded by Tracy Caskey; the motion carried.

 
Treasurer’s Report:  Tracy Caskey

• Tracy distributed transactions(8/1 – 8/31); General fund currently has $26,002.72
• Band Fees still owed: $15,969.30; Statements will be mailed soon.
• A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Kellie Norton, seconded by Scott Bradley; the motion carried.

 
Committee Reports:

            Update:  Expected after marching season.
 
Chuckwagon Angela Weis

• Game snacks have been successful
• Angela will get candy for parade
• Water for Drummit and parade
• First Competition (Vahalla near Springfield); will have lunch on arrival; dinner at 5:30pm; snack on way home (10pm)
• Pizza for Homecoming (9/16)

Fall Football Programs Jennifer Scrivener

• All ads are sold; $2000 ads sold before book published, $783 in program sales
• More sellers needed
• Jennifer will talk with Coach K. about free rosters at the gate hurting sales
• Sellers need to keep selling through halftime; can walk around some; homecoming should generate good revenue

Father/Daughter Dance Sherry Dubois and Melissa Hogan

• February 4, 2017

Field Crew/Band Dads Chris Wilhite

• 8 Scrims (panels 4’ x 8’) in front of field; 4 include Trade Center Skyline; 4 include Statue of Liberty area
• Time leaving for St Joe on 10/11? Probably 3:30pm
• Need Driver (Gary Glasser?) on 10/15
• Eagle Project on 8/13 went very well; Semi with uniform racks ready to go
• Transwest has agreed to check lights and tires for free, but if repairs are needed, they will require funding
• Band Dads (and Moms): More help is needed for games and competitions

Mums Dana Wilhite

• Sales are down this year to around 300, compared to 500 last year
• Plan is to sell “coupons” at Homecoming game; buyers can pick up at Creekside
• Delivery to Methodist Church 9/22; volunteers needed to help distribute

Trash Bags Kim Roberts

• Delivery will be 9/29, 5-7pm
• Forms due on 9/16

Big Daddy’s Donuts Caren Homer

• 10/28 setup; can show the flyers on their phone or bring the paper copies

Monopoly Game Cyndee Byous

• Allison reported that Cyndee was planning a mass calling effort

Band Uniforms: Jen Inman

• Concert wear will be fitted next week after school; exact day TBD; Mr. Wilson will check on what day will work

Spirit Wear: Sherry Dubois

• Backpacks ($40), Shorts, Pants, and maybe beanies ($7-10 for traditional ones; $20 for nicer ones with ball on top)
• A question was asked about if other shirts (eg, “Panther Pride Marching Band”) are available; Sherry will check
• Some adults would like to buy show shirts; Mr. Wilson will check on availability

Director’s Report: Mr. Wilson:

• Students have to have an activity pass
• Vahalla Scheduled distributed
• Speakers ready for show
• Thursday rehearsal help has been great
• Our school district needs to commit to band every day in middle school
• Mr. Jarrett spent ~$50 for sound system; will spend another $12
• We need parents to visit with students to help promote fundraisers
• A question was asked about when we will leave for St. Louis trip? Ans: Likely after game on Friday night.
