The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room of the South Raymore-Peculiar High School building.  Those in attendance were: Kellie Norton, Scott Bradley, Chris Wilhite, Dana Wilhite, Robert Hacker, Elizabeth Craig, Jennifer Scrivener, Sherry Dubois, Melissa Hogan, Angela Weis, Sandi Williams, Jennifer Gibson, Dillon Jarrett, Amanda McVay, Kim Robert, Jennifer Schmitt, Allison Bruflat, Tracy Caskey, Julie Adolphson, Alec Adolphson, Doug Adolphson, Travis Houston, Jennifer Inman.
 
The meeting was called to order by President Allison Bruflat at 7:01 p.m.

• Introductions
• Objectives of the Bylaws:
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
  • Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  • To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
• Change Jar and Dead Horse email
• Respect and consideration for our time and work

 
Meeting Minutes Approval: 

• The minutes from the September 2016 meeting were reviewed
• A motion to approve the minutes was made by Kellie Norton, seconded by Sherry Dubois; the motion carried.

 
Treasurer’s Report:  Tracy Caskey

• Tracy distributed transactions(9/1 – 9/30); General fund currently has $38,319.88
• Band Fees still owed: $8,416.43; this is down by almost half! Emails are working
• Tracy will make calls over the next couple of weeks
• A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Kellie Norton, seconded by Kim Robert; the motion carried.

            Update:  Expected after marching season.
 
Chuckwagon Angela Weis

• First Marching Competition went very well; lots of help!
• Water will continue to be provided in cups and bottles
• Gluten Free, and other dietary issues have been accommodated, but some students are not participating; adults will encourage students to take advantage of specially ordered items on their behalf
• Separate Peanut Butter and Jelly packets (and bread) are available as meal alternatives

Fall Football Programs Jennifer Scrivener

• Last game is Friday, 10/6; More sellers needed; attendance likely to be high
• St Joe Central complimented our school, and especially our hospitality

Father/Daughter Dance Sherry Dubois and Melissa Hogan

• February 4, 2017
• Form has been submitted to reserve building
• A meeting is scheduled for planning; Sherry’s house 10/17

 
Field Crew/Band Dads Chris Wilhite

• 8 Screens done and placed on the field; they look great but we could use 4 more
• Leaving school for St Joe at 1:30pm on 10/11
• We have a driver for 10/15
• Heartland Tractor generously loaned us a 4-wheeler to pull our trailer full of equipment

Mums Dana Wilhite

• Sold around 400; more profit (around $4,000) this year

Trash Bags Kim Roberts

• Thanks to those who helped sort and distribute
• Still have extras to sell

Big Daddy’s Donuts Caren Homer

• 10/28 setup; can show the flyers on their phone or bring the paper copies

Monopoly Game Cyndee Byous

• No report

Band Uniforms: Jen Inman

• Concert wear will be fitted; need the portable racks; Mr. Wilson to ensure they are put in the hallway
• Need pink gloves for 10/8 game

Spirit Wear: Sherry Dubois

• Backpacks ($40), Shorts, Pants, shirts, and  beanies ($7-10 for traditional ones; $20 for nicer ones with ball on top)
• Forms are due 10/7

Copyright Fees:  These will need to be paid for music (around $2,000)
 
New Business:
New Bibbers:  Allison Bruflat

• Snaps are good for higher hems; not for smaller hems

• Discussed new uniforms
  • Directors will begin socializing this with Administrative
  • Will need to go to school board
  • Some options include washable and lighter-weight material

Canopies

• We discussed how many we have?  Two; and some parents have more they could be asked for
• We could use the moving blankets for kids to sit on to help keep uniforms clean

Color Guard Report Sandi Williams

• May be adding some color (belts?) for accent
• Julie will send thank you to uniform donor

 
Director’s Report: Mr. Wilson:

• Vahalla Performance was outstanding
  • Outstanding Soloist; 3rd place in preliminary competition out of 26 bands; outstanding percussion, outstanding Drum Major; 4th in Finals out of 12 bands
• 10/18 HS Concert
• Testing is ongoing; District try-out is 11/5.
• Playing at Veteran’s Day ceremony (Farmer’s Market)
• Peculiar Mayor’s Tree Lighting; no more City Lights in Kansas City
