 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE 
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC
May 11, 2021

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in person in Band room. Those in attendance were: Libby Craig, Lisa Sorge, Catie Howlett, Tara Spencer, Jennifer Story, Jennifer Gibson, Dillon Jarrett, Nina Hunter, Cat Campbell, Mindy Muller, Laurel Baumgardner, Melissa Adams, Jennifer Scrivener, Kathy Haneberg

The meeting was called to order by Catie 6:00pm

• Introductions
  
• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:
  
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
    
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
    
• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
  

Business Reports:  

• Motion to approve April minutes by Jennifer Story, seconded by Lisa Sorge-approved
  

Treasurer  Report: Tara

• Trash bag fundraiser-~$5000.00 profit for student accounts- All fundraisers need to be paid in full before distributed. Only distribute what is paid. Thank you Mr. Jarrett for turning in the South MS orders so nicely.
  
• Past Due Fees-$6059.90 still owed from 2019/20 & 2020/21 school years. ⅔ from 2019/20 school year. 7 students not even on roster. Paypal requests sent to 41 people-1 person paid. $1027 owed by seniors.
  
• Seniors were sent letters asking what to do with credits-either sibling or benevolent fund.
  
• September 22, 2021 fees for 20/21 must be current in order to compete.
  

Committee Reports: each officer will now have a subcommittee to increase communication.
Color Guard- Kymbre Ressler new coach

• Doing HyVee Card fundraiser
  

 Fundraising -Jennifer

• Trash bags-thanks to Mindy for the labeler and Catie for the spreadsheets. Fall sale to begin during band camp.
  
• Mums- raise price to have $10 profit
  
• ?One More Scoop/Shivers/other restaurants?-money not dispersed to student accounts-maybe use these to pay for semi/driver fees
  
• Football Programs-Jennifer Scrivener able to lead again, Will need help on days of photos.  Gina Riegert also willing to help.  Band pictures August 19th.
  

Field Crew/Band Dads-- 

• Brent Riegert willing to help, but will need a head band dad.
  

Uniforms – Lisa

• Starting fittings on Thursday A-L, Friday Middle schoolers, Tuesday M-Z. Will need extra volunteers.
  
• Plume bags need to be loaded.
  
• Are we going to do shorts again?
  

Concert Wear- 

• Concert band-all black-pants and shirts next year?  This may help us get by with the tuxes we have.
  

Chuckwagon (hospitality)–Tricia Kelley

• Missing 1 yellow canopy tent
  
• need to know who has keys to shed and trailers.
  

Director’s Report: Jennifer Gibson

• Large Ensemble ratings-Wind Symphony-Gold, Symphonic Band-Gold, Concert Band-Silver.
  
• Louis Armstrong Award Winners-Hayden Smith and Tristan Vitti
  
• National School Marching Award Winner-Lucian Howlett
  
• Patrick Gilmore Award Winner-Kiersten Grant
  
• John Philip Sousa Award Winners-Lilah Manning and Sage Buckley
  
• Medals were ordered and should be here in 2-3 weeks, most likely everyone will have to pick up there awards when school is out.
  
• Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band Audition Results have been posted in Canvas. Based solely on performance.
  
• Marching Band Leadership-2 Drum Majors-Gracie Reynolds and Angelica Zagar.
  
• Sports Physical Night is June 9th-ask Ms. Gibson if your student needs one. They are now good for 2 years, but can’t expire during the season or you will need a new one. Cost is $15.
  
• Marching Band Calendar: 2 dates have been added: Sept 11th-playing for the Cass County Health Foundation 5K and possible performance at Ray-Pec’s beginning of the year Convocation.
  
• Volunteers-any adult that is going to be around the kids has to have a background check. It is good for 2 years. Cost is $15. If you are not sure if you have one on file call Dinah.
  
• June 11&12- Drum Major Virtual Camp
  
• June 18&19- Virtual Camp for ALL marching band leadership, we have invited other schools to join in to offset the extra cost. 9-4
  
• Marching Band music, handbook, lettering forms, and fees will be mailed and emailed home before the end of the school year.
  
• Senior Video will be going home to all Senior parents by May 18th. Seniors will watch it in class on their last day.
  
• Awards Video will be sent home before the last day of school
  
• We need a band parent to drive the semi.
  
• We possibly have 8-10 barrels coming from Mr. Shupe’s family. Not sure if it is a donation or if there will be a fee. Need 20-25 barrels total.
  
• Upcoming Meetings at 7pm? 
  
• Shirley is covered by district insurance.
