MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC.
May 14, 2019

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the cafeteria at South Middle School.  Those in attendance were: Melissa Hogan, Trina Westhues, Catie Howlett, John Wilson, Libby Craig, Lloyd Story, Jennifer Story, Travis Houston, Aaron Howlett, Diana Edgecomb, Joe Man----.


The meeting was called to order by Trina Westhues at 5:30pm

• Introductions
  
• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:
  
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
    
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
    
• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
  

Business Reports:  

• The minutes from the April 9, 2019  meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve minutes -Trina, seconded Diana . No discussion
  

Treasurer’s  Report: Faye Tait and Diana Edgecomb

Committee Reports:
Color Guard-

• 9 students - small group only 3 freshman
  

Fundraising -Kelli Hurley

• it was discussed that the Vice President should have the role of fundraising chair
  
• Culver’s Night rescheduled for 8/14 target date
  

• Plant Sale 5/4 8-1 in Raymore City Hall Parking Lot- ?
  
• Freezing Moo 5/9 ?
  
• Trash bags -approximately $1000
  
• Percussion show- $882 profit-chain system equipment, sabian-donations, symbol crash cymbals
  
• Sunglasses -possible fundraiser
  

300x $12 +$1500 gross profit- $80 set up $5 fee-custom shades-30 day lead time-motion to go forward-Melissa Hogan and Jennifer Story-approved

• Mums set up for Fall per Trina
  
• Catie proposed a fundraiser idea of doing a money board, and also wondered if there could be a buyout option
  
• Father/Daughter dance tentative date February 8th
  

Field Crew/Band Dads-Brent Riegert -Head Band Dad

• suggestion  to have band boosters and directors meet with 8th grade parents, have breakout sessions-band dads, uniforms, fees, volunteer coordinator-this will occur May 30 after band practice- possibly have a food truck
  
• suggestion to use Remind for notifications
  

Uniforms – Jen Inman

• measurements for new uniforms 5/23 6-8pm. Need volunteers to enter date-Jen/Lynette, DIana
  
• need to send out email to parents about measurement night and band fees. 1st payment of $110 due May 30th
  

Concert Wear- Lynette Grant

• no updates
  

Chuckwagon – Tricia Kelley

• Tricia to do ordering for next season, Laurel Baumgardner heading
  

Director’s Report:

• Mr. Wilson would like $300 to send drum majors to camp in Platte County July 7,8,9-$100 each.  Kelli moves to have band boosters to pay for drum majors, seconded by Diana and Catie-motion passes
  
• Plan to continue having concerts in the auditorium next year
  

• proposed marching schedule handed out

• Football programs-Kelli Hurley will be primary contact, Jennifer Scrivener still willing to do
  

need to find out how many were printed

• Sponsorship levels-tabled until 11/2019
  
• Community Band being started by Mr. Wilson and Ms. Gibson- let people know that you think may be interested
  
• Next years Band Booster Board announced
