MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE
 RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC. 
TUESDAY – March 14th, 2023

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room. Those in attendance were: Jennifer Gibson, Zach Shupe, Libby Craig, Jenna Craig, Bobbi Bond, Marian Pfeiler, Michelle Helzer, Kurt Sorge, Lisa Sorge, Melissa Adams, Jill Clingan, LeeAnn Thompson, Chris Thompson, Chacqie Chandler, Jason Heuwinkel 
The meeting was called to order at 7:18pm by Libby Craig after Prop RP1 Presentation

• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:
  

• Assist the RP Band programs and directors
  
• Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board, and communities
  

• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
  

Business Report:.
Motion to approve minutes for February 21, 2023 booster meeting was made by 
Jennifer Gibson, seconded by Kurt &  Lisa Sorge
Directors Report: Jennifer Gibson

• March 25th, Districts Solo/Ensemble Festival-Grain Valley HS  All Day 45 events
  
• All in Band Trip- October 2024 going to Universal Parks in Orlando -watch sound design and creating sounds - Virtual meeting is Monday March 20th at 7pm, will need chaperones- will not include color guard unless musician
  
• High School Band Auditions will be a week after Spring Break 
  

                 Zach Shupe -Jazz Band Director

• Jazz Band had a great Season - lots of praise - Pitts State waiting on scores Concert following was cool, students met Wycliffe Gordon, American Trombonist  
  
• After districts, planning to tour nursing homes to keep up on Jazz, to stay fresh and get something on the charts
  
• Trying to plan a Summer Jazz Camp - bring in talent to teach Jazz, will need RayPec High School volunteers but might need to reach out to other schools - event geared to build Middle School Jazz interest -Ideas still being discussed

Uniform Report: LeeAnne Thompson

• Moving cleaning uniforms to last week of April
  
• 13 Bibbers  and 8 pairs of shoes still remain to be returned
  

Color Guard:  Jennifer Gibson

• Showcase is this Thursday in the Dome at 7;30pm
  
• Tryouts are posted 
  
• Closet needs adult help cleaning and shed needs to be cleaned too
  
• Service hours are coming after districts
  

Fundraising Committee: Bobbi Bond

• The Father/Daughter Dance is complete.  Just need service hours for donations 
  
• Trash bags moved to Spring and kick off April 24th with Marching Band meeting
  

Chuckwagon: Bobbi Bond

• Shed needs to be organized and might need a new grill
  

Treasurer Report: Marian Pfeiler

• From Father /Daughter 454 Hours worked at $20.00 hour per student, still not applied until all approved. $9000 given to students  Total amount given to Band Booster will be announced at the next meeting. Set work schedules ahead of time, need a tier for profit, Thresholds upfront, voted on for next year, maybe use sign up genius 
  
• Balance Checking $56,000, Savings $4700
  
• Looked at Blue Springs form of payment - Online per family for student to pay in future
  
• Will charge school account if bibbers are not returned
  
• Request to pay band fees through charms current was $20.00 for tux shirt & cleaning
  

Band Dads: Jason Heuwinkel

• Trey is doing well.
