 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE 
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC.
June 11, 2019

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the cafeteria at South Middle School.  Those in attendance were: Catie Howlett, John Wilson, Libby Craig, Mika Craig, Jennifer Story, Travis Houston, Diana Edgecomb, Candy Trageser, Kelli Hurley, RJ Hurley, Tara Spencer.


The meeting was called to order by Catie/Kelli at 7:00pm

• Introductions
  
• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:
  
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
    
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
    
• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
  

Business Reports:  

• The minutes from the May 14, 2019  meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve minutes -Kelli, seconded Catie . No discussion
  

Treasurer’s  Report: Faye Tait and Diana Edgecomb

• $6000 donation  in May- $2000 earmarked for the trailer, $4000 earmarked for percussion
  
• Trash Bag invoice not received yet- Kelli will follow up after Diana can check PO box
  
• Band Fees- $330 no refunds if not wanting shoes. Everyone gets shirt and hoodie. $165 due August 1 and September 1- families can make other arrangements if necessary
  

Committee Reports:
Color Guard-

• no representative
  

Fundraising -Catie/Jennifer

• Kelli Hurley- Monkey Printing Spirit Wear prices are increasing by $1 for t-shirts and hoodies. This will be forwarded on to the purchasers.
  
• Crew shirts will be $12- Gold shirts with Panther Pride logo
  
• Catie-fundraiser idea-Shakepeare’s Pizza. If the order is above 140, free delivery. Cost $12- kids get $6 in proceeds. If less than 140 proceeds would be $5.
  
• Sunglasses- need final approval from Tom Kruse to sell during registration July 24 & 30
  
• We are a go for football programs. Jennifer Scrivener wants to do it. Will print less this year. Sign up genius for program sellers.
  

Field Crew/Band Dads-RJ Hurley -Head Band Dad

• Zach Shoop sp?- new teacher- lots of marching experience-excited to help with Crew.
  
• District got a new box truck
  
• Mr. Wilson  should have an idea of what is wanted for the upcoming show by next week.
  
• At the family barbecue during band camp plan to have volunteer signups again to capture the upperclassmen parents
  

Uniforms – Jen Inman

• When are band uniforms being picked up for cleaning? They only pick up on Wednesdays.  Trying to set up for June 19
  

Concert Wear- Lynette Grant

• no updates
  

Chuckwagon – Tricia Kelley

• no updates
  

• Band camp- Snocone fundraiser July 31st
  
• Pizza/ice cream on last day, August 2nd
  

Director’s Report:

• Community Band has 1st concert June 27 at Centerview
  
• This years marching band is made up of 117 marchers and 7 color guard
  
• July 7,8,9 Drum Major camp
  

.New Business

• Senior Ads- JoEllen and Mr. Miller usually send out emails
  
• We need someone to design the band booster page for the programs
  
• Senior Night info- August 30
  

-last year cookies for the seniors with names and regular cookies for the others
-other snacks for this night
- need to revisit this at the July meeting
    -Senior medals/yellow carnations
    -photographer?

• Kelli volunteered to update Charms calendar and files. Motion made by Jennifer and seconded by Catie to give Kelli permissions for Charms to be able to do this
