MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC.
TUESDAY, JULY 11TH, 2023
 
The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the high school commons area. Those in attendance were Jennifer Byrne, Sarah Haas, Seina Pfeiler, Marian Pfeiler, Melissa Guyer, Sam Musfelt, Tristan Musfelt, Vada Musfelt, Jill Clingan, Chris Thompson, LeeAnne Thompson, Jason Heuwinkel, Rachael Burr, Kendyll Gethers.
 
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 pm by Marian Pfeiler.
 
Marching Band Kickoff Update: Marian Pfeiler
The Marching Band Kickoff will be Thursday, 7/27 from 6:30-9:30 pm in the high school commons area. The color war items have been purchased. Michelle requested donations from QT. If that does not work out, we will do a shopping trip the weekend before, and what we don’t use at the kickoff event can be for chuckwagon. Ms. Gibson (Mrs. Byrne!) noted that we may have to use Shull for the kickoff event, but she is going to check. 
 
Business Report:
Motion to approve minutes for May 9th, 2023 booster meeting was made by
Melissa Guyer, seconded by Tristan Musfelt.
 
Director’s Report: Jennifer Byrne

• The athletic director has asked that we not allow points to be given toward lettering for donations.
• Percussion director position update: Several interviews were done through the end of May, but none of these applicants were offered the percussion position. If no teacher is found, the position will reopen for the spring semester, and middle school percussion will be taught by Mr. Jarrett and Mr. Shupe. However, Sarah Fortner, a student at UCM, is a strong percussionist who is going to help with percussion during band camp.
• Leadership Camp: Friday, July 21st (12-4 pm) and Saturday, July 22nd (8 am – 3 pm).
• Marching band photos are Tuesday, August 15th.

 
Color Guard Report: Melissa Guyer

• Color Guard Camp is July 17th-20th. The deposit for uniforms has been made, and we are just waiting on measurements.

 
Uniform Report: LeeAnne Thompson

• We need to know when to order wristbands and gloves, although we have enough to get started. It was decided that the drum majors did not need white gloves.
• We have 116 pairs of socks.
• We will fit the drumline and frontline during percussion camp on Tuesday, July 25th and Wednesday, July 26th from 7 am – 12 pm. We will fit the rest of the marching band the first week of band camp on Tuesday – Thursday, August 1st-3rd, from 7 am – 12 pm. We need volunteers to help on these dates.

 
Fundraising Report: Marian Pfeiler

• Michelle has a Culver’s Night planned on 9/11 from 5 – 8 pm.
• We will do our mums fundraiser in September with delivery at the end of September.
• We have spirit wear designs created with an online order form. We will hand these out at the Marching Band Kickoff event. 
• The mattress fundraiser, which we do in conjunction with RPSings, is on 11/11.
• Father-Daughter dance fundraiser is in February.
• Trash bag fundraiser will be in the spring.
• Other possibilities: something like Fan Angel, QT cards, a Mojitos night

 
Chuckwagon Report: Marian Pfeiler
Bobbi still plans being involved with chuckwagon. We need to make sure we are ready for the first game.
 
Treasurer Report: Marian Pfeiler

• Still wrapping up final report of the year, but we may have a profit of about $1,000.
• Marian cleared accounts of recent graduates (transferring money to a sibling, the benevolent fund, or sending a refund). Some have not yet responded.
• Fees have not yet been set up for the new year.
• Charms has been bought by CutTime. Once that is set up, Marian will send out emails to parents about how to set up those accounts.
• Gator fund: Money from the benevolent fund and Charms money can be transferred to go to the Gator account (17K). We will discuss in August the amount we can put in a Gator fund plus the cost of accessories and shed and if the Gator can be stored at the school.

 
Band Dad Report: Jason Heuwinkel

• Don is working on getting one of the props done, and then the band dads will start building them. They are measuring the props so that they can fit into Laverne.
• We are going to need someone with a truck to haul Laverne.
• Trey will drive and wants us to send him travel dates. Jeff Edmonson has said he will fill in as needed.
