 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC
January 11. 2022

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held virtually. Those in attendance were: Libby Craig, Jennifer Story, Jennifer Gibson, Marian Pfeiler, Jason Heuwinkel, Zach Reque, Lisa Sorge, Mindy Muller, Bobbi Bond, Jill Clingan, Samantha Musfelt, Rebekah Robinson, Jessica LaRue
The meeting was called to order by Jennifer Story at 7:05pm

• Introductions
• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives :
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education

Business Reports:  

• Motion to approve minutes from September booster meeting made by Jennifer Story
• No meetings were held in October, November or December

Director Report: Jennifer Gibson

• All District Bands were successful. 38 students made it, 30 attended due to Covid and illness. 30 hours of rehearsal and a concert.  Thanks to Bobbi Bond and the boosters for snacks and breakfast.
• All District Orchestra- 6 students invited from brass and percussion.  Due to the forecast it could be canceled. Mrs. Resler is taking them. Saturday only. Being held in Sedalia.
• Hawaii Update-don’t know much.  If you signed up, but haven’t paid anything, you were put on a waiting list. Last day to sign up is about a month before.  Last day for full refund is July 1, 2022. If we feel like we have to cancel, we will do that by the last day of school.
• Solo and small ensemble season- we are in the middle of that now. Mostly kids in Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony are participating in a solo or small ensemble.  Ms. Gibson is accompanying most solos-need to set up rehearsal times in the next 2 weeks. Ensembles need to set up rehearsals with Mr. Jarrett or Mr. Deckard.  Performance day i March 5 in Grain Valley.
• Eligibility-only can have one F on semester report card.  Ms. Gibson is working on getting tutoring set up to help kids get their grades up.
• Large Group Ensemble is 3/24 at Pleasant Hill High School. Yes, this is during Spring Break.  Students need to tell Ms. Gibson now if they are going to be unable to attend. We will need help from Chuckwagon for this event.
• Fall 2022- only 4 competitions due to Hawaii trip.

Treasurer Report:  Marian

• Account totals-~$51,000
• Fees set up in Charms ~$3,800 still owed- ~$3000 for current students and $700 from last year.
• Possible check in the mailbox in bandroom. Some kids are having trouble with Charms.
• Invoices- Sound System $4,000, Semi ~$400. Bobbi to turn in invoices for District weekend
• Fall Programs- 7 vendors have still not paid $800–We shouldn’t place ads without payment.
• Mindy has a couple of checks to turn in.
• There should be a couple of refunds for Hawaii trip coming in
• Mr. Walker is working on a grant to help with Hawaii-needs 501C paperwork to continue.

Fundraising Committee-Mindy Muller

• Father Daughter Dance- postponed until at least April.  May move it to the Fall or cancel due to Covid concerns.  Do we try to do it outside?  Beach Blast?  Discussion tabled until next booster meeting.
• Mattress Sale- next one in the Fall.  Ms. Gibson asked if the Boosters can take over the sale and planning it.  Someone just needs to be at the school the day of the event.  People can take shifts.  Last sale- 22 mattresses sold.

• No updates

New Business.

• Mr. Matt Stanley has asked about purchasing a couple of the pictures from the backfield of Radioactive set.  He wants to send them to a member of the military. Jennifer Story made a motion to donate 2 posters to Matt Stanley. This was seconded and approved,
