MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE
 RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC. 
TUESDAY – FEBRUARY 21, 2023

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room. Those in attendance were: Jennifer Gibson, Zach Shupe, Libby Craig, Jenna Craig, Jonah Craig, Mika Craig, Bobbi Bond, Marian Pfeiler, Seina Pfeiler, Michelle Helzer, 
Bo Helzer, Chacque Chandler, Lisa Sorge, Melissa Guyer, Jason Heuwinkel, Jill Clingan, Debra Stanley, Kelsey Walker- Call in
The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by Libby Craig

• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:

• Assist the RP Band programs and directors
• Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board, and communities

• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education

Business Report:
There was no meeting in January 2023 due to working on Father/Daughter Dance. Meeting was scheduled for Thursday, February 16th, but moved and approved by board for Tuesday, February 21st, 2023.
Motion to approve minutes for December 2022 booster meeting was made by Jennifer Gibson, seconded by Lisa Sorge
Directors Report: Jennifer Gibson

• February 24th, Jazz Showcase 7pm at RPHS
• February 25th, Jazz to UMC
• February 27th, Band Concert 6:30pm at RPHS
• March 3rd, Pitt State Jazz Band Festival All Day
• March 7th, Pre Solo/Small Ensemble Festival
• March 25th, Districts Solo/Small Ensemble Festival-Grain Valley HS - All Day
• Father/Daughter Event UNREAL!!!
• Marching Band Show will be announced in March, Last week in July -Percussion Rehearsal - Band Practice/Camp will begin Monday, July 31st which means the Parent Picnic will be Thursday, July 27th, 2023
• Band Trip for October 27th-31st, 2024 is in approval process, 7th -10th graders will be eligible to go and will include Band and Orchestra members
• MS. GIBSON WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE THROUGH JUNE 2023!!!!

President Report: Libby Craig

• No Report

Uniform Report: Lisa Sorge

• There are concerns about bibbers not being returned from the trip.   
• Everything will go to the cleaners 3 weeks before school is out - students can help 
• All Seniors and if you are not returning to band in the Fall, you can donate your black marching shoes for others to wear. Shoes must be in good condition.  

Color Guard:  Kelsey Walker

• There are still 3 contests and 1 Championship left to do, then season will be over
• So thankful for letting Color Guard take part in Father/Daughter Event

Fundraising Committee: Bobbi Bond

• Still finishing up and the Father/Daughter as it was a huge success. 
• Kids will be getting funds in their accounts.
• Trash bags will be after the trip announcement
• Emailed today similar to Fan Angels but different

    
Chuckwagon: Bobbi Bond

• Snacks from Father/Daughter will be sold at a concession stand at the Jazz Event 

Treasurer Report: Marian Pfeiler

• Presales $12,000 then another Presales $  4,000 Feb 9th-11th when had to reopen Check in Saturday Night $2,300 Souvenirs $900 Concession $400
• Discussed that $20.00 an hour will go into students accounts that worked 
• Gift Cards, Blanket & Chocolates will be used at end of the year banquet
• Marian upgraded Band Boosters Sam’s Annual Membership for “Cash Back”
• 2 Year Limit on Treasurer is coming up this year, Marian mentioned to change the ByLaws soon, as she has a fifth grader and can do this another 7 years
• Lisa Sorge mentioned there needs to be a “minion” with Marian to follow and understand what all is happening with the Treasurer.
• President Libby Craig asked for a list of expenses for next year Father/Daughter and a List of names from when checking in 
• Bank Account: $56,000 and Savings $4700

Band Dads: Jason Heuwinkel

• Will Trey be driving next year? Need a back up?

New Business:
Tuesday, March 14th, Dr. Voelker will talk at 7:00pm on the tax Levy Transfer benefits/ teachers pay. Please plan to attend this meeting.  Band Booster Meeting will be at 6:00pm HS Band Room
