 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF THE 
RAYMORE-PECULIAR BAND BOOSTERS CLUB, INC
August 13, 2019

The regular meeting of the Raymore-Peculiar Band Boosters Club was held in the band room at the High School.  Those in attendance were: Catie Howlett, Jennifer Story, Diana Edgecomb, Kelli Hurley, Tara Spencer, Trina Westhues, Susan McCamish, Laurel Baumgartner, Tina Kirby, Quentin Lindsey, Tiffany Lindsey, Libby Craig, Candy Trageser, Nina Hunter, Debbie Oldham, Joy Wildermuth, Jen Inman, Zachery Perkins, Amber Bramble


The meeting was called to order by Kelli/Trina at 7pm

• Introductions
  
• Meeting Expectations and Bylaws Objectives:
  
  • Assist the RP Band program and directors
    
  • Promote enthusiasm and commitment to band among students, parents, school board and communities
    
• Support instrumental music education throughout the district
  
• To raise funds to finance or partially finance activities related to music education
  

Business Reports:  

• The minutes from the July 9, 2019  meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve minutes -Kelli, seconded Catie . No discussion
  

Treasurer’s  Report: Diana Edgecomb

• July Statement not yet reconciled
  
• Please email Diana if you have any questions about spending or fees
  
• Fees- $330 for everyone not negotiable due to miscellaneous expenses that come up that aren’t budgeted for such as tires for white trailer and shed roof.
  

Committee Reports:
Color Guard-

• Coach Jen was busy with picture night
  

Fundraising -Catie/Jennifer

• Culver’s cancelled- Maybe Sept/Oct. Trina motions to move to Spring- motion carries
  
• Sunglasses- Collected $1200-1300. Try to sell at band picnic, Catie to ask Tom Kruse if we can sell at home football games. Purchased #300 sold #120
  
• Football Programs- 4 aprons donated for program sellers, signup genius needs to be made for volunteers. Need to get money from Diana for change.
  
• Spirit wear- Deadline was August 2nd. Order going in tonight.
  
• Mums- underway-check the table in the instrument room if you need forms. Precount due Sept 10, Final Sept 14.
  
• Trash Bags- Due Sept 6. Signup genius for pickup.  Need 10 volunteers
  
• Crew shirts- $12 sign up-payment to Band Boosters by next meeting
  
• Chipotle Night- Sept 10th
  
• Open Fundraisers-MOD Pizza, Big Daddy’s Donuts, Freezing Moo, One More Scoop
  
• Father/Daughter Dance to be headed by Amber Bramble
  

Field Crew/Band Dads-RJ Hurley -Head Band Dad

• They are out working on props
  
• Trey and RJ went down to Texas to buy props from another school. Boosters paying for gas, food, lodging.
  
• Ordering scrims within the next week-just finalized designs
  
• White trailer- needed 2 new tires
  
• Shed near football field needs new roof.  We are trying to figure out who is financially responsible for the repairs.
  

Uniforms – Kelli Hurley

• New uniforms to be delivered mid/late season
  
• Everyone fitted in old uniforms. Arla/Nina hemming pants- only 3 left. Lots of people helped with buttons.
  
• Need more heavy duty hangers for jackets. $47 for 50 on Amazon. Kelli made a motion to buy #100 new hangers.  Diana motioned to purchase #200 hangers due to needs for dresses, too. Motion to buy #200 carries.
  
• Wristbands-white/black/pink for frontline to be ordered
  
• Shoes- new shoes have been ordered. People inevitably lose 1 shoe.  Uniform personnel will carry extra shoes, extra gauntlets, and extra gloves at competitions.
  
• First Aid kit- some things need to be replaced. Possible donation from CVS or Walgreens?
  
• Need a volunteer to walk with band at competitions and help Tamera with uniform issues
  

Concert Wear- Kiersten Grier’s grandma

• Will get started once school starts
  

Chuckwagon – 

• Band BBQ 8/23 6-8:30--4:30 setup
  

-Sides/Chips
-need to bring individual snacks 
-Desserts
divided among sections
-Everyone brings a case of water
-band to provide hamburgers/hotdogs/buns

• Pizza/popsicles-went well
  
• Senior Night-Senior Cookies- Ivy’s Cookies- ordered, Senior medals also ordered, Carnations, Mayor Kris Turnbow to be announcer. Practice on Aug 29, Kellie Norton to take pictures.
  

Director’s Report:

• Remember for next year- Pictures should not be outside
  
• App they are using for drill is wonderful-less than 5 kids don’t have devices
  
• Calendars coming out tomorrow
  
• BBQ next Friday night
  
• We are in good shape this year
